Monthly Update: What’s new, what’s next, what’s in the pipeline?

Me, this week.

January is finally over.

I feel sorry for January, it seems to be a universally hated month. But with good reason. It’s the post holiday dip, winter has well and truly lost any charm or novelty value, but it still feel like ages till the spring. But January was a month that happened, so now it’s time for a monthly update.

What’s new?

On the publishing front, nothing was new from me in January. But in other news, I’m (hopefully) selling a business so that I’ll have more time to focus on writing soon. I’ve also booked ahead all my editing slots for this year. So with a lot of work and a bit of luck, I will manage to publish five new books in 2016.

This is the plan.

This leads me nicely onto….

What’s next?

What’s in the pipeline?

Despite January being so Januaryish, I managed to get my head down and meet my writing goals. I started the month with about 5,000 words of something I wasn’t sure about. By the end of Jan I had 40,000 words of Imperfect Harmony. It’s still unfinished (I think it will end up around 50-55k), but it has a title, and a gorgeous cover (that I’ll show off in due course), and I need to get it to my editor by Feb 22nd. Yikes. If all goes well I’m hoping to publish it sometime around the end of April.

The Law of Attraction looks amazing! Can’t wait for it!

  2. Angela says:

January is my birthday month so i feel a little bit different then most people about the first month of the year ๐Ÿ˜‰ I love the blurb of The Law Of Attraction and put it on my must read list. Will it be available on All Romance ebooks?

    • I hope you enjoyed your birthday. Thanks for the nice comments about The Law of Attraction. It will be exclusive to Amazon, at least for a while anyway. I hope you can still read it if you want to.

  3. waxapplelover says:

I don’t know if I hate January, but my birthday is in January, so I hate growing a year older. ๐Ÿ™‚ Congarts on the soon-to-be release! I love the cover.

  4. susana says:

January was really exhausting at work, because we have to close/open a new year, and there is a lot of stats and reports going on… But it was a really good month in reading terms, I’ve found some new writers and hidden jewels… All in all it was an interesting month.
Thank you for sharing your month with us. The Laws of Attraction sounds really good. I’m sure I’m going to love it! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  5. Jen CW says:

I don’t think that I hate January, but I can see why others might. It’s been a busy month for me. We converted our guest room into a baby room and that meant going through stuff that we’ve had for years and reorganizing and donating a lot of stuff that we just don’t need now. We also got snowed in for four days with the big snow storm. ๐Ÿ™‚ The Law of Attraction looks great. Thanks for the giveaway chance!

    • I think I particularly hated January this year because we had crappy weather in the UK for a lot of it. That always makes it feel extra gloomy.
Sounds like you’re had an exciting month. It’s always good having a sort out, and for such an exciting reason ๐Ÿ™‚

So impressed by you, as always! My January was OK. I entered a writing contest on Dec. 31 and another on Jan 29 (I do them because they make me write fast within certain boundaries of genre, word count, etc. which feels like good “exercise”). I also wrote a little in something real I am trying to write (which makes me sick to my stomach to think about so… moving right along, haha). I already have your entire backlist, of course, haha, but wanted you to know that, of course, I am reading. ๐Ÿ™‚ XOXO

    • Well done on the writing contests. I used to do fandom writing fests/exchanges, it’s a good way of getting motivated. Good luck with your something real *wonders what’s unreal about the other writing* ๐Ÿ˜‰
And aww thank you re the backlist. You’re ace!

I’m reading. And very jealous of that five book target for the year. If I’m lucky I’ll get one out with a publisher (although I need to finish it first) and one self pub re-release.
